The Amenities Committee (Amenities)
This committee serves to advise the BOD on the maintenance, expansion and operation of community amenities. Tasks include, but are not limited to: setup and teardown of pool furniture, review of vendor proposals/contracts, basic inspection of facilities, solicitation of resident feedback on current or proposed amenities, calculation of budget expenditures, maintenance of facility reservation calendar, ensuring completion of contracted projects and responding to reports of damaged community property in a timely manner. Members must stay in active communication via official channels with fellow committee members, the BOD, the community management company and residents.
Example activity: Amenities is notified by a resident that a water pipe has burst and is flooding the basketball court. Amenities members notify the local water authority and arrange for water shutoff. Amenities notifies the Management company and BOD, then seeks service quotes from multiple local vendors to determine repair costs and timelines. Proposals are submitted to the BOD for approval. Once approved, Amenities works with the appropriate vendor to ensure proper repairs, billing and payment.
Other common projects within this committee’s scope:
selection of new pool furniture & equipment
prioritization of repairs to infrastructure
beautification of common areas
contract negotiation
review of event insurance policies
Typical time commitments range from __ hours per week but may vary based on season and volume of active projects.
